High quality photos at the home of the Blue Angels!

On July 29th, 2025 I was fortunate enough to be in souther Alabama and made my way over to Florida, specifically to NAS Pensacola, to catch the Blug Angel’s practice session scheduled for the day.
Check out the gallery of shots from the day for what I hope proves to be an great visual overview of the event.
I started the day by getting over to the West Gate of the NAS just after 8am on Tuesday. Everything I read online said the gate would open up at 9am and not to park outside as they would make you move. I headed to the gas station to fill up and grab an iced coffee while I waited. Around 815 or 820 I headed back towards the gate just to see what I would see.
To my surprise there was quite the line of cars parked on the side of the road, backing all the way up to the parkway. I chose to hop onto the parkway and get in line behind the last car, parked in the grass as much as possible to leave room for traffic to get through.
To my surprise, right at 830am they opened up the gates and started letting the public onto the base (station) to head to the Navy Museum.
I made it over to the Museum, got my gear together anded walked towards the flight line viewing area. I was just about to hop in line to buy a seat in the “admirals” club, figuring for $12 it gave me a place to sit while I waited, along with a bottle of water and ear plugs (I had left mine in the car). As I was getting in line though, a nice lady told me that as a photographer I shouldn’t get a chair, I could go to the flight line photographers section roped off on the west/south side of the public viewing area.
It was nice to chat with some of the photographers who were waiting there, I got a few tips, and also made a few new friends.
When the show started we had a great view. Many of the photographers there apparently show up nearly every time the Blue Angels fly/practice. It was cool to hear some of their discussion and to see things that they pointed out as being “new” or different.
Check out the full gallery for the nearly 100 shots I’ve processed and uploaded.
